Each detail of the restaurant’s décor, whether it is fresco on the walls, Scythian dames, carved furniture, lusters and candelabra, hand-made dishware or engraved tableware, everything up to the last trifle is custom-made. The historic accuracy in details, keeping the spirit and the traditions of the princely estate of the times of the ancient Russian state gives the “Knyazhiy Grad” Restaurant the status of an object which is part of the Ukraine’s rich cultural heritage.
In “Knyazhiy Grad” Restaurant, each visitor can experience how Kiev princes had their meal, taste the dishes and drinks which accompanied feasts and receptions of the noblemen of that times. The restaurant’s menu is authentic and unique, in fact it is a collection of the most interesting ancient recipes adapted to contemporary gastronomic rules of preparation and serving dishes.
The restaurant’s Chef, Ivan Pilipenko is an honorable member of the Moscow Guild of Chefs and Russian Cookers’ Association offers our welcome guests rabbit paste with marmalade and salad, veal cheeks with buckwheat and porcini, sturgeon scalded in birch juice, delicate king crab rissoles with mashed potato, lamb goulash and other delicious dishes. The wine list has in-house liqueurs and drinks: mead, horseradish wine, liqueur infused on apples, cornel and buckthorn.
