Kiev is the capital of Ukraine and an ancient city, which has centuries-old history and rich culture.
The panoramic tour will show you beauty and magnificence of this unique city. You can see here survived architectural ensembles of XI-XVII centuries and modern architecture. The excursion will start with observing historical monuments and sights of an old part of the city, which is situated at seven green picturesque hills.
Among the old historical monuments Saint Sophia Cathedral takes an important place as a vivid example of the Old Rus monumental art. The cathedral was built XI century. It was a residence of Kiev metropolitans and played the key role in Orthodox Rus destiny. Here the first known library in ancient Rus was founded by Yaroslav the Wise. The cathedral interior has survived from the time of its foundation.
Also you will be able to observe with Andrew’s church, Mikhailovsky Cathedral, the Golden Gates and Vladimir’s hill, which is supposed to be the place of foundation of Kiev-city.
After observing Ancient Kiev you will visit modern Kiev — National Opera and Ballet Theatre, National University. You will walk along Khreschatik, will hear history of this central city street, and observe view at Dnipro River and one of the oldest Kiev districts Podil from the sightseeing place near Druzhby Narodiv Arch (Arch of Folks Friendship).
